Today is the birthday of my wonderful husband. The kids and I made lists of what we love about daddy. Bethany got the hang of the idea quickly, while Benjamin needed a bit of help....not quite getting the idea. Beth's list of what she loves about Daddy:
1.) He is funny
2.) He plays with me
3.) He always tickles me.
4.) He reads with me.
5.)He sometimes plays blocks with me.
6.) He always tucks me in bed.
7.) He always tackles me.
8.) He gives me kisses.
Benjamin's List:
1.) He growls
2.) He sings
3.) He takes showers with me.
4.) He barbecues.
5.) He lets me help him.
6.) He goes to work.
Some of my list of why I love my husband:
1.) He is a hard worker.
2.) He loves the Lord, which is evident in how much he loves his family.
3.) He loves his children.
4.) He is very patient.
5.) He never complains about my cooking.
6.) He is easy-going.
7.) He is passionate about his interests.
8.) He has the courage to do what he feels is best for us even if it means a hard decision.
9.) He always has a song going in that juke-box in his head; and most of the time is singing it.
10.) He is tenderhearted.
11.) He lets me cut his hair and never complains if I botch it (which is hard not to do with his head of hair ;)
12.) You know what?...he never complains, period.
13.) He loves me despite all my faults.

We went miniature golfing tonight for Chris' birthday. Boy was that an adventure. Let's just say that we had not ever taken the kids and that it was the quickest round of miniature golf in which I have participated. Talk about speed golf. Bethany was quick and eager to get her ball down to the hole, but BENJAMIN......that boy was in a hurry to get somewhere!!! I think he was mostly fascinated by (surprise, surprise) the water features at the course. At one point he wanted to get in the water so badly that he was asking me to take off his clothes so that he could swim in the water. We have been to the pool once this week as well as the water fountains in the park nearby, so he is in water mode. In the video below you can see how quickly we completed a hole. Goofy boy.
After golfing we went to the cheesecake factory for some dessert. Cheesecake is one of Chris' favorites, and we had not yet been to the restaurant. The place was packed, so we ended up getting slices to go and ate in the mall. It was a special night as a family, though I am sure I can speak for Chris in saying we missed all our family and friends. As we put Benjamin to bed he asked if we could have daddy's birthday again :)

that is too cute. too bad you are having such a good time in portland, because im not there! i miss you all, wish chris a happy day! he is a great husband and daddy!
